I had my last drink of alcohol 3 years ago and it’s been a dance-battling, boat-cruising, skinny-dipping, word-traveling, HUGE party ever since.
Amen. It’s tough to avoid drinking, especially in the current programmer culture. Also, I really enjoy a lot of things that are alcoholic, like good beer and fancy cocktails. But I hate missing out on experiences because I got too tipsy. Drunkenness, for me, is an unfortunate side effect of a lot of really tasty drinks.
(This is another reason why tea is awesome.)
